My setup, software I use and other gear I recommend.

Inspired by uses.tech, here's a notable list of what I use for work or to stay productive and organised while at it. I will be updating this page as my setup changes.

Workstation

  • Starlink

High-speed internet is super important as I work remotely. With Starlink, I get download speeds of 180 - 275 Mbps and upload speeds of 15 - 28 Mbps on average.

  • 14” MacBook Pro, M3, 8GB Unified Memory (2023)

Compared to my 2020 13” M1 MacBook Pro, the display is bigger and better without sacrificing portability. It’s faster, and the array of ports for peripherals is handy.

  • Apple Pro Studio Display (Standard Glass)

That 27” 5K Retina Display makes it easier to build pixel-perfect digital experiences.

  • Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID

Besides a remarkably comfortable and precise typing experience, Touch ID provides a fast, easy, and secure authentication for logins and purchases.

  • Apple Magic Mouse

Yes, I flip them up to charge! But I could hardly do without all the gestures.

  • Autonomous ErgoChair Pro

You sit a lot in this field, but this very adjustable ergonomic chair provides comfort where I need it with the flexible lumbar support.

  • Autonomous SmartDesk Pro

Using an electric sit-stand desk helps with my energy levels and posture.

Development tools

  • Visual Studio Code - Insiders

I tried Sublime and recently Cursor, but this is still my current and favorite IDE.

  • Hyper

I went from the macOS Terminal to iTerm2 and now Hyper solely for a customised command-line experience.

  • Google Chrome

Resource-intensive? Probably. But my default browser is Chrome because it integrates seamlessly with several Google Services I use daily.

  • Postman

I may use Insomnia, another API development platform, for personal projects. But my go-to for streamlined collaboration with team members is Postman.

Design

  • Miro

Essentially, my innovative whiteboard for idea generation. I use this collaborative platform as a visual workspace for managing team projects and designing products.

  • Figma

It's a great collaborative interface design tool that streamlines my workflow with features like Dev Mode and the VS Code extension.

Other Gear

  • AirPods Pro (2nd generation)

I get hours of listening time every day between meetings and when I turn up some soulful house music in focus mode.

  • T-Force M200 SSD

While I mostly rely on cloud services as my backup strategy, I keep some essentials in a 500GB portable SSD that offers fast read/write speeds.

  • Spigen Laptop Stand

An accessory that improves my laptop airflow and relieves neck strain by positioning my laptop in various adjustable angles.

  • Bellroy Tech Kit

This generously sized pouch keeps my tech accessories organised and sorted.

  • Harber London's Classic Rucksack

Aside from being made with premium, durable materials, this rucksack has a conscious, timeless design and is comfortably functional for work, travel and anything in between.
